Lab Roles

Graduate Advisor

The Graduate Advisor is responsible for advising and aiding Management in making decisions and making sure the mission stays on track

Assistant Chief Engineer

The Assistant Chief Engineer is responsible for aiding the CE to execute all engineering task on the program.

SCL Assistant Manager

The SCL Assistant Manager is in charge of helping the SCL manager  to run the SCL. The goal of SCL is to train members and give newcomers a stepping stone before joining a satellite subsystem. SCL has both small scale projects, and a larger mission.

FSW Lead

The flight software lead will write C/C++ code which runs on embedded systems which manage the automatic behavior of the satellites (pointing, navigation, etc.), collecting and parsing telemetry, and then on-board processing of any scientific data. The lead may Focus on high reliability software systems.

Power Lead

The Power Lead is responsible to estimate and keep an accounting of the power requirements of every subsystem, and make sure the EPS can supply at least that much power.

Structures Lead

The Structures subsystem is responsible for the structural design, implementation, and analysis. This will entail work at the systems level and at the detailed design level.

Chief Engineer

The Chief Engineer is responsible for the technical execution of all engineering tasks on the program. The CE is the Engineering point of contact for the Project Manager as well as the point of contact for all Subsystem Leads

Assistant Program Manager

The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for aiding the PM to help oversee the various projects, and other strategic initiatives across all subsystems.

C&DH Lead

The Command and Data Handling lead designs and assists in testing the flight computer and peripheral systems, such as storage, sensors, and actuators. This includes design, programming, testing, and troubleshooting of embedded systems, analog and digital circuits, and PCBs

I&T Lead

The Integration and Testing Lead is responsible for soldering circuit boards, assembling spacecraft and components, and fabrication of wire harnessing. The lead will develop, document, execute, and analyze tests for their satellite mission.

GN&C Lead

The Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) subsystem is responsible for designing the satellite's Attitude Determination and Control Systems (ADCS) with various cubesat-viable sensors and actuators, so that we can meet that requirement and carry out the mission.

OPS Lead

Mission Operations Lead prepares and executes in-flight operations for the satellites. OPS involves the design of the Concept of Operations, Exception development and handling procedures, fault tree development, and of course, performance of in-flight operations through mission control software after launch.

Program Manager

The Program Manager is a strategic project-management professional whose job is to help oversee and coordinate the various projects, and other strategic initiatives across all subsystems.

SCL Manager

The SCL Manager is in charge of running the SCL. The goal of SCL is to train members and give newcomers a stepping stone before joining a satellite subsystem. SCL has both small scale projects, and a larger mission.

COMS Lead

Communications lead is responsible for radio frequency signals for communication, normally between space and a ground station on earth, or between two orbiting satellites. Transmissions to a spacecraft may include command data to on-board processors for controlling the satellite.

Thermal Lead

The thermal subsystem uses different analysis techniques to find the projected temperature of the satellite while in flight. The development of the satellite design revolves around ensuring that the satellite remains within operational temperatures.

Payload Lead

The Payload Lead is responsible for the scientific requirements of the system and Feasibility Analysis of Payload(s)
